Delhi: Court’s big statement in liquor scam case, said- Sanjay Singh’s name coming just a mistake of typing
On Thursday (June 1), Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia appeared in the Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. During this, the court made a big comment on the complaint of Manish Sisodia’s lawyer. Questioning the attitude of the media, the court said that if needed, banning will also be considered.
The lawyer of the former Deputy CM of Delhi had claimed that Sisodia was misbehaved during the last appearance. It was said on behalf of the lawyer that the Delhi Police had taken Manish Sisodia by holding his neck while he was answering the questions of the media. He said that there was no Aam Aadmi Party worker there at that time.
CCTV footage should be presented – Court
The counsel appearing on behalf of Manish Sisodia applied for summoning/preserving the CCTV footage of the hearing held in the previous hearing. He alleged that the security personnel misbehaved with him. The court directed to preserve the CCTV footage during the hearing of that day and present it on the next date.
Typing mistake in Sanjay Singh’s name
During the hearing, the judge noted that Sanjay Singh’s name was mentioned instead of Rahul Singh’s due to a typographical mistake in the ED’s charge sheet. The court said that this is just a typing mistake. ED’s lawyer made it clear that Sanjay Singh’s name is not included in the list of accused. The next hearing in this matter will be held on July 19.
Video conferencing should be produced – Delhi Police
During the hearing, the Delhi Police has filed an application in the court requesting that Manish Sisodia be produced through video conferencing instead of his personal appearance, so that the situation like last time does not arise. On which answer was sought from Sisodia.
On this, Sisodia said that it is better if there is a personal appearance in the court, because during that time there is also a chance to take advice from the lawyers. At the same time, the court was told by the ED that a copy of the charge sheet has been given to all the accused in the case. The court made it clear that till the decision is not taken on the application filed by Sisodia for production through video conferencing, the production will be done through video conferencing only, there will be no personal production in the court.
