Uttarakhand Mahila Congress came in support of wrestlers, warned to surround PM-CM residence if Brij Bhushan is not arrested
The protest of the country’s top wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India, has got the support of the Congress from day one. At various places, Congress is demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in favor of wrestlers. Jyoti Rautela, president of Uttarakhand Mahila Congress, also held a press conference and scolded the government for not taking any action against MP Brij Bhushan, who is surrounded by allegations of sexual exploitation.
Jyoti Rautela said that on one hand the government is hesitating to take action against Brij Bhushan Singh in the sexual harassment case. While on the other hand, the government wants to end the movement of women wrestlers in a peaceful manner. In such a situation, it is clear that the government is trying to save its MP. Jyoti Rautela says that the government is working to protect MP Brij Bhushan Singh despite the allegations leveled against him by Mahila Pahalans.
He said that the government is not ready to listen to the demands of the women players agitating for their demands. The women wrestlers who worked to bring laurels to the country by bringing medals, the government took action on them within 24 hours. But no case was registered against Brij Bhushan Singh. In such a situation, the Mahila Congress government has been given an ultimatum of 5 days and has said that if the government does not take any action against MP Brij Bhushan Singh within 5 days, then the Mahila Congress will gherao the Chief Minister’s residence and the Prime Minister’s residence. The Congress has also warned the government that if no action is taken against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh within 5 days, then they will be forced to gherao the residence of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister.
