According to the police, this girl of Fatehabad police station area was married to a young man from Iradatnagar area on May 20. The girl alleges that her family gave as much dowry as possible, but on the very next day of marriage, the husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law started pressurizing her to bring bike and gold ring in dowry and she was beaten up for not bringing dowry.
According to the police, the newly wedded woman has alleged that on May 24, a face-showing ceremony was conducted and during this time her in-laws accused her of being a eunuch and forcibly stripped her in the name of testing her in front of some male relatives and women. According to the police, the victim alleges that her in-laws forced her to sit in a car and forced her to sit in a car when she protested against stripping and dropped her near her maternal home.
According to the complainant, when she reached home, seeing her condition, her mother called her in-laws, then the in-laws abused her on the phone saying that they should not keep the girl. On the request of the victim, Additional Commissioner of Police Keshav Chaudhary has directed the Fatehabad police station to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
