Uttar Pradesh: 8 year old girl raped by luring toffee in Kanpur, police arrested 80 year old priest
A shameful news has come out from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Ghanshyam Das, an 80-year-old priest of a temple in Barra area here, has been arrested for raping an 8-year-old girl. It is alleged that after finding the girl alone, he used to call her to him by luring her with toffees. When the girl’s father reached in search of her, he caught Baba doing wrong things. The girl also narrated her ordeal during interrogation. The relatives informed the police about the incident through the control room. After this, the Barra police registered an FIR against the accused priest on the complaint of the family members and arrested him. After the action of the priest came to the fore, a lot of anger is being seen among the people of the area.
According to the information, the family of a mason from Hamirpur lives near the Ramjanaki temple in Barra by making a temporary hut made of bamboo strips. Baba Ghanshyam Das, an 80-year-old priest of a temple, also lives in a hut a short distance away. When the Municipal Corporation launched an anti-encroachment campaign on Friday, these roadside huts were destroyed. It is told that the mason again built a hut at the same place at night with the help of bamboo strips and went to work in the morning with his wife and two children, leaving his 8-year-old daughter in the hut.
Girl was missing from home
When he reached home in the afternoon, the daughter was missing. While searching, reached near Baba’s hut, peeped inside and saw him misbehaving with the daughter inside. The father brought the girl home. When his wife asked the daughter, she informed about Baba’s wrong doings by luring her with toffee and money.
Case filed under Poxo Act, priest arrested
On coming to know about this, people got angry about Baba. The police was informed about the incident. The police reached on the information of the mason and took Baba to the police station. According to the Barra police, a case has been registered against the accused Baba under the Poxo Act and arrested. The girl’s medical has been done.
