The reason given by the railway minister for the accident, the senior officer had written in the letter three months back

After the Balasore train accident in Odisha, a letter from the South Western Railway has come to the fore. According to the letter accessed by India Today, the principal chief operating manager of the railway zone warned about the flaws in the electronic interlocking system three months in advance. He had raised concerns about the failure of the electronic interlocking system in February. In this letter written to the Railway Board, it was said that if this system is not rectified then serious accidents can happen.

Meanwhile, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also held the ‘Electronic Interlocking System’ responsible for the Odisha train accident. How Coromandel Express derailed will be clear after investigation. But the letter from the Principal Chief Operating Manager of South Western Railway raises many questions on the flaws in the system and the people responsible.

The accident was averted due to the vigilance of the loco pilot
According to a report by India Today correspondent Sagay Raj, the Principal Chief Operating Manager of South Western Railway had expressed concern over signal failure of an express train on February 9. It was told that due to the understanding and alertness of the loco pilot, an accident was averted.

According to the report, due to the vigilance of the loco pilot of Sampark Kranti Express (12649) on February 8, the train survived an accident. The manager told that the incident of February 8 revealed several flaws in the interlocking system. He told that the dispatch route of the train is displayed after running on the signal of the train. This violates the interlocking principal.

The Principal Chief Operating Manager had also talked about rectifying this flaw in the system. He also said that a detailed investigation should be done and the report should be shared with all station masters, TIs and traffic officers.

Railway Minister spoke of CBI inquiry!
Here, the death of 275 people has been confirmed so far in the Odisha train accident. At the same time, more than 900 passengers are said to be injured. This figure may increase further. Earlier, on the evening of June 2, when the news of a rail accident in Odisha came, the matter of collision between a goods train and an express train came to the fore. It was later learned that not two but three trains, a goods train, the Coromandel Express and the Howrah Express had collided.

The Railway Minister has recommended a CBI inquiry into the accident in Odisha. Talking to the media, he had said that on the basis of the information that has come to the fore so far, the Railway Board has recommended an investigation by the Central Investigation Agency.
