Uttarakhand: There may be a tussle in the Congress regarding the Tehri seat as well! Has there been a ruckus among the claimants on the Haridwar seat?

After the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat in the Congress, if politics is hot on any other seat, then it is Tehri. The internal politics of the party is hot due to the refusal of the former Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh to contest the Lok Sabha elections from this seat in the last Lok Sabha election. The way there is a figure of thirty-six between the state organization and in-charge Devendra Yadav and Pritam, in the coming days, a new chessboard may be seen laying for this seat. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, there are signs of growing controversy over tickets within the Congress. First of all, many claimants have come forward for the ticket on Haridwar seat. Now the tussle regarding the Tehri Lok Sabha seat is likely to increase. In the year 2019, the Congress had nominated former Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh from this seat. In the last election, Pritam Singh could not win, but was able to get more votes than the BJP from his constituency Chakrata under this seat. Pritam Chakrata is the MLA for the sixth consecutive time from the seat.
Politics intensified in the party
This time the politics in the party has intensified with the announcement of Pritam Singh not to contest the election. State Congress President Karan Mahara as well as former Chief Minister Harish Rawat have objected to his announcement. Senior party leader Harish Rawat says that the party decides who will contest from which seat.
Karan Mahara has also made more or less the same comment. It is a different matter that taking Harish Rawat’s comment seriously, Pritam Singh also clarified the reasons behind his displeasure towards not contesting the election. Unhappy with the coronation of his arch-rival Darshan Lal as State Congress Scheduled Caste State President, Pritam Singh has been seen angry since the appointment of party district presidents in Tehri parliamentary constituency.
After the state organization, the way former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has commented on Tehri seat, a new chapter of tussle has started between veteran leaders of the party. The state organization is not yet ready to open its cards completely regarding the ticket on Tehri seat, but in the coming days other contenders may also appear on this seat. However, considering the influence of the voters of Jaunsar-Bawar along with Chakrata assembly seat on other assembly seats of Tehri Lok Sabha constituency, the party is also moving forward with a pinch of salt. But, Pritam’s tough stance is troubling the party.
