French Open: Djokovic surpasses Nadal to win the most Grand Slams; Casper Rude’s dream shattered

Novak Djokovic of Serbia defeated Kasper Ruud of Norway in the final of French Open. World number three Djokovic defeated number four Rude in three consecutive sets. He won the match 7-6 (7-1), 6-3, 7-5. The Serbian player created history by winning the French Open. He became the player to win the most Grand Slams. Djokovic has 23 Grand Slam titles. In this case, he left behind Rafer Nadal (22) of Spain. Roger Federer, the retired great player of Switzerland, became the champion 20 times.

Djokovic, 36, has won the French Open for the third time. He is the only player to win the four Grand Slams at least three times each. On the other hand, after the loss, Casper Ruud will have to wait for his maiden Grand Slam title. He has lost in the final of the French Open for the second time. There was a tough fight in the first set
The match between Roode started off in a great way. Both the players are giving tough competition to each other. The first set lasted 81 minutes. Djokovic won it 7–6 (7–1) in the tiebreaker. Casper Ruud led 3-0 at one stage but Novak, a winner of 23 Grand Slams, made the most of his experience and defeated the world No.4 in the first set.

Rude slipped in the second and third sets
The second set between Djokovic and Ruud was much easier. Caspar Rude could not show anything amazing in this. He was easily defeated 6–3 by Djokovic. It looked like Djokovic was in a hurry to end the set. He defeated Rude badly in the second set. After this, Rude made some improvement in his game in the third set, but he failed to send the match to the fourth set. He took a brief lead in the third set, but could not overcome Djokovic and lost 7-5.

Football giants came to watch the match
Football legends also turned up to watch the final match between Djokovic and Ruud. French star player Kylian Embappé appeared at the stadium.
