Uttarakhand: Puraula case is taking political color! Muslim public delegation met CM Dhami, said – strict action should be taken against those who are spoiling the environment

The case of abduction of a minor girl and exodus of traders of a particular community from Uttarkashi is taking a communal colour. The District Magistrate reached Purola on Monday to stop the mahapanchayat convened on June 15 amid a heated atmosphere after the tweet of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen National President Asaduddin Owaisi. Despite convincing both the communities, the matter did not work out. On the other hand, some Muslim MLAs met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday on the Purola issue. The Chief Minister clearly said, no one will be allowed to take law in their hands. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. Owaisi’s tweet on Monday gave a new lease of life to the Mahapanchayat in Purola and the exodus of people belonging to a particular community. He wrote in his tweet – “It is the job of the BJP government to send the culprits to jail and peace prevails soon. The Maha Panchayat to be held on June 15 should be banned immediately. Security should be provided to the people living there. Arrangements should be made to bring back the people who have migrated from there.

The matter started trending on Twitter with the hashtags “Save Uttarakhand,” “Save Uttarakhand Hindu,” “Save Uttarakhand Muslim.” When politics heated up, the government also swung into action. On the one hand, Ankit Singh Rawat, president of village head organization of Purola block, gave a memorandum to the SDM and clarified his stand towards peaceful mahapanchayat, on the other hand, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela appealed to stop the mahapanchayat. The main organization flatly denied this. The efforts of DM Ruhela and SP Arpan Yaduvanshi continued till late night.

BJP said- Love Jihad, Land Jihad is unacceptable

Owaisi’s reaction on the Purola controversy left the ruling BJP in the state infuriated. The party retaliated and said, Owaisi’s advocacy of Love Jihad and Land Jihad is unacceptable. Party’s state spokesperson Manbir Singh Chauhan said, Owaisi is neither an acceptable leader of the Muslim community nor his well wisher. They do vote bank politics everywhere by spreading hatred. Demographic change efforts in the state will not be allowed to succeed in any way. No one should take law in hands, no one is above law. His poisonous words cannot disturb the calm atmosphere of Devbhoomi.

Some anti-social elements are harassing the people living in the state since generations. Due to which the people of the particular community are migrating.

Video of vandalism in shop goes viral, investigation will be done

According to police officials, prima facie this video seems to be of Barkot. In such a situation, the truth can be known only after the investigation of FSL. Along with this, ADG Law and Order Dr. V Murugesan has directed SP Uttarkashi to monitor every activity of the proposed mahapanchayat on June 15. Strict action will be taken against whoever takes the law into their hands, he added.
