Date for updating ‘Aadhaar’ for free extended, know how to update

The deadline for updating the 10-year-old Aadhaar card was over on June 14. Now a big relief has been given to the people by the government. The central government has extended the deadline for free updates by three months. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the free Aadhaar update deadline from June 14 to September 14, 2023. Now people have enough time of 3 months. So that they will be able to update their Aadhaar for free. You can now update and upload your Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents online till September 14, 2023. Free update facility is available online only. You have to pay the fees in offline.

If you go to your nearest Aadhaar center and get some updates done in Aadhaar, then you may have to pay a fee of Rs 50 for that. Till September 14, Aadhaar users can update demographic details i.e. details like mobile number and email ID for free.

Update your Aadhaar card like this

  • First of all go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • After this you have to click on the “Update Aadhaar” section.
  • Then the user has to enter his Aadhaar number and security code.
  • After this an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, which will verify the number.
  • After this you will have to provide mandatory information like address, phone number, name or date of birth.
  • After this upload the copy of the sought documents and enter the required demographic information.
  • Now a Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated. Note it down for tracking.
  • On completion of internal quality check, you will get an SMS for successful processing.
