After the Purola incident, the Muslim community had announced a mahapanchayat in Doon on 18th June. After the Purola incident in Uttarkashi, the Muslim community, adamant on holding a mahapanchayat in Doon, postponed the mahapanchayat late night after meeting the Chief Minister. The organizers said that the Chief Minister has assured them that Purola-like incidents will not recur and strict action will be taken against those who disturb communal harmony. The police administration was continuously talking to the Muslim community, but they were adamant on the Mahapanchayat. The organizers of the mahapanchayat had a meeting with DIG, SSP Dalip Singh Kunwar late Wednesday night. In this, he had assured to take appropriate decision in this matter on Thursday after meeting the DGP and the Chief Minister. On Thursday afternoon, the organizer met DGP Ashok Kumar, but after the talks, he announced that the mahapanchayat would not be postponed. Even if the police administration puts them in jail. Along with this, he also demanded a meeting with the Chief Minister regarding the matter. After this, the organizers met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami late in the evening.

Organizers Mufti Raees, Yakub Siddiqui, Javed Khan, Aaqib Qureshi, Razia Baig, Nadeem Qusairi, Latafat Hussain told that the Chief Minister has assured them that an incident like Purola will not happen again. After meeting the SSP late night, the organizers announced the postponement of the mahapanchayat.
