Kedarnath Yatra halted due to heavy rains, Orange alert in these districts of Uttarakhand, Dhami instructs officials to remain on alert mode

The effect of monsoon has started appearing across the country. It is raining heavily in Uttarakhand as well. Due to heavy rains in Rudraprayag district, Kedarnath Yatra in Sonprayag has been stopped till further orders. Rudraprayag Collector Mayur Dixit told that the ban on Kedarnath Yatra will continue till the rains stop.

Record rain in many districts of Uttarakhand

Monsoon has reached Delhi-Uttar Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand. It is raining heavily in many cities here. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, 78 mm of rain has been recorded in Haridwar, 33.2 mm in Dehradun, 27.7 mm in Uttarkashi during the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, this condition of rain will continue for the next few more days.

CM Dhami inspected the disaster management control room

In view of the situation, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami did a surprise inspection of the State Disaster Management Control Room located at the Secretariat. During this, he got information from the officials regarding the situation of heavy rains. The Chief Minister took information from the Disaster Control Room about the current weather condition, rain situation, water-logging and damages caused by the rains in the state.

Officers instructed to be on alert mode

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that there may be heavy rains in the state in the coming days as well. In such a situation, the officers are directed to maintain contact with all the districts. So that any kind of emergency situation can be avoided. For this, he has instructed the officials to be on alert mode for disaster relief and rescue operations.

Yellow alert regarding rain in these districts of Uttarakhand

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding heavy to very heavy rains in several districts of Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours. Orange alert has been issued in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun and Tehri and Pauri districts along with heavy showers at some places. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in other districts. Due to the rains in Haridwar, many pictures of waterlogging on the roads have also come to the fore.
