Uttar Pradesh: Here bears became farmers! Monkeys were causing damage to the crops.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri, farmers are troubled by the menace of monkeys. Farmers are adopting every trick to save monkeys from destroying crops. Now the farmers of a village in Lakhimpur Kheri have adopted such a technique to drive away monkeys that it is being discussed all around. In Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, farmers had to become bears to save their crops from monkeys. Farmers are guarding their fields by becoming bears. Farmers in Jahan Nagar village of Lakhimpur Kheri use bear costumes to prevent monkeys from damaging their sugarcane crop.

Farmers became bears to drive away monkeys

The farmers have collected money and bought monkey costumes to protect the crop from monkeys. Farmers sit in the field wearing this dress, so that monkeys do not harm the crop. A picture of a farmer wearing a bear costume sitting in the fields is going viral on social media.

Officials didn’t pay attention, bought dress

Gajendra Singh, a farmer told that 40-45 monkeys are roaming in the area and damaging the crops. We pleaded with the authorities but no attention was paid. So we (farmers) contributed money and bought this dress for Rs 4,000 to protect our crops. Now someone is sitting in the fields wearing this dress, so that monkeys do not come to the fields.

Officials gave assurance to the farmers

Discussions intensified after the pictures went viral on social media. The farmers have accused the officials of not paying attention. And the officials have assured action. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sanjay Biswal said that I assure the farmers that we will take all measures to stop the monkeys from damaging the crops.
