After honoring the democracy fighters, CM Dhami said that he got a chance to honor the fighters who protected India’s democracy during the Emergency. The country can never forget their sacrifice and sacrifice. When the Emergency was imposed, during that time not only the political people opposed the Emergency, but at that time there was anger in the mind of the public as well.
Chief Minister Dhami said that what is the importance of democracy in common life? It is known when someone takes away democratic rights. Something similar happened on 25 June 1975. Actually, after the imposition of emergency, the people of the country started feeling that everything was taken away from them.
At that time, a joint struggle front was formed of the students of all other universities including Lucknow University, BHU and Allahabad University. Other leaders including Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Nanaji Deshmukh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave their support to this front. The result of the struggle was that democracy was restored in the country.
