The weather in Uttarakhand is continuously wreaking havoc. The news of damage is coming from different places. This phase is still in the beginning of monsoon. On the other hand, 2 days ago, on June 24, in the Jhuni Top Bugyal area of Kapkot of Bageshwar, there was an incident of lightning falling on more than 300 goats of shepherds. Goats were killed in this incident. This incident was a completely different incident of its kind in Uttarakhand, in which such a large number of cattle have died together. Animal Husbandry Minister Saurabh Bahuguna has given great relief to the economically weak shepherds.
According to the information released from the office of Animal Husbandry Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, where a compensation of Rs 4 thousand is being given by the Disaster Management Department for each goat killed due to lightning, then Rs 2 thousand is now given per goat by the Animal Husbandry Department. Will go. In this way, a compensation of 6 thousand per goat is being given to the shepherds by the government. According to the information issued by the Animal Husbandry Department, the compensation amount of Rs 2,000 per goat will be transferred to the bank account of District Manager, Uttarakhand Sheep and Wool Development Board, Bageshwar. After this this amount will be made available to the cattle herders.
Let us tell you that every year in the monsoon season, where on one hand many people lose their lives due to divine calamities, on the other hand a large number of lives and property are also damaged. In this loss, the number of cattle is also very high. According to the Disaster Management Act in Uttarakhand, the compensation amount has been fixed. But the standards of this compensation amount are very low. Therefore, there is a need from time to time to provide additional help by the concerned department. In the same sequence, in the Bageshwar incident, where the Disaster Management Department has given compensation under the Disaster Act, but due to the very low compensation, additional assistance has been provided by the Animal Husbandry Department.
