SAFF Championship: High voltage drama in India-Kuwait match, players of both teams clashed; Coach got red card

India played out a 1-1 draw with Kuwait in the SAFF Championship played at Bengaluru on Tuesday (June 27). This was India’s third match in the tournament. He defeated Pakistan in the first match and Nepal in the second match. At the same time, Kuwait also won against Nepal and Pakistan. During this match, high voltage drama was seen on the field. Players of both the teams clashed with each other several times.

From the first half itself, the players of India and Kuwait were fighting with each other. Shortly after the start of the match, Akash Mishra had a fight with a Kuwaiti player. After arguing for some time, the matter was settled again. Due to the mistake early in the match, the referee did not give any punishment to anyone. India was leading 1-0 till half time.

Rahim will not be able to play in the semi-finals
In the second half, Kuwait players were playing more aggressively. He was constantly troubling the Indian players on the field. Hamad Alkallaf of Kuwait pushed Sahal Samad of India to the ground. After this India’s Rahim Ali pushed Alkallaf and players from both the sides clashed with each other. Rahim and Alkallaf were then shown red cards. Due to this both the players had to go out. Rahim will not be able to play in the semi-finals due to red card.

Stimac was again ruled out of the match.
Meanwhile, Indian football team head coach Igor Stimac’s woes continue in the competition. He had already received a yellow card for obstructing play and this time he was shown a red card for approaching the officials. His conversation with the match officials did not materialize and he had to walk off the field. Earlier in the match against Pakistan, Igor Stimac was shown a red card. For this reason he was not in the dugout in the match against Nepal.

Captain Sunil Chhetri’s goal had given Team India the lead, but India’s Anwar Ali’s own goal in the second half leveled the scores at 1-1. The result of this match did not matter much, as both the teams have already qualified for the semi-finals. The match was played at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
