Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary took a review meeting regarding the monsoon season, target given for ‘Catch the Rain’ scheme

In the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu took a meeting with the officials regarding the Catch the Rain scheme. In this meeting, some targets were given to the concerned departments for the monsoon season for the next three months. Instructions have been given to meet these targets.
Catch the rain scheme review meeting
While reviewing the Catch the Rain scheme, the Chief Secretary said in the meeting that not only this season, but on the basis of the work done in this season, the action plan for the next season will also have to be prepared this year. Under the Catch the Rain scheme, the Forest Department, Irrigation Department, Watershed etc. departments related to the monsoon season have been given targets to prepare an action plan in relation to Chalkhal and rainwater harvesting.
Chief Secretary gave target to District Magistrates
The joint target of all the departments was also discussed in the meeting. In which it was said that no water source should dry up. There is a need to prepare a comprehensive action plan to save water sources from drying up. The Chief Secretary has given targets that soon all the District Magistrates should hold meetings at their level to fix their targets and prepare a plan.
