Pakistan: Encounter between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan, 6 terrorists killed
ARY News on Saturday quoted the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) as saying that Pakistan’s security forces killed 6 people, whom the officials called ‘terrorists’, during an encounter in North Waziristan and Tank City.
According to the ISPR, three ‘terrorists’ were killed in the exchange of fire in Razmak area of North Waziristan district.
In another encounter in Tank City, three others were killed and arms and ammunition were recovered from them by the security forces.
ISPR said the terrorists were actively involved in terror activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians, reports ARY News.
Army media said the local people of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
A similar incident took place on Wednesday in the tribal districts of Bajaur and Khyber, where four people, whom the official described as terrorists, were killed and three others injured during an operation by the Pakistan Army, Dawn reported. .
The first operation was carried out in Inayat Kalli area of Bajaur district on suspicion of presence of a terrorist named Shafiullah. The accused was wanted in several targeted killings, suicide attacks and bombings and carried a reward of 2 million Pakistani rupees (PKR).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, an intense exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists in Mamond area of the district and arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Dawn quoted the statement as saying that the terrorists were involved in activities against security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.
In another incident in Khyber district’s Tirah Valley, a terrorist was killed and three others injured in a gunfight with security forces during the operation.
An ISPR statement said the terrorist was killed during an operation, adding that there was an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists.
Dawn quoted the statement as saying that the area was being cleared to eliminate other terrorists.
