Uttarakhand: Dengue knocks in Dehradun, 6 patients found positive, health secretary issues these instructions

With the onset of monsoon season in Uttarakhand, the process of meeting dengue patients has started in Dehradun district. Six dengue positive patients have been found in Dehradun’s Singhal Mandi, Rest Camp, Kusum Vihar, Ajabpur Kalan Patharibagh and Vikas Nagar. Regarding the prevention of dengue in the monsoon season, Uttarakhand Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has given instructions to all the district magistrates regarding the prevention and control of dengue. He said that the possibility of dengue increases as the monsoon season approaches. In such a situation, arrangements have been made for the treatment of dengue patients from medical college hospitals to primary health centers. It is also coming to notice that some patients are coming to hospitals with symptoms of dengue.

He instructed all the District Magistrates that from their level, the Additional District Magistrate and Deputy District Magistrate should go to the hospitals and take stock of the dengue disease situation and health arrangements, so that there is no shortage of any kind in medical management. Along with this, regular review of the concerned officers and hospital administration in the district should be done at its level and it should also be ensured that the prevention and control of dengue disease is compulsorily run in the district.

Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika held a meeting on prevention of dengue at her camp office on Monday. Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer and District Program Officer were present in the meeting. In the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed the Chief Education Officer, Dehradun, to take necessary action regarding the control and prevention of dengue and chikungunya in schools. Along with this, the officials of the Health Department were asked to run awareness programs along with the prevention of dengue, so that the general public can be saved from dengue.
