Uttarakhand: Dhami government’s 2 year term completed

Pushkar Singh Dhami has completed two years on the Chief Minister’s chair. During his tenure, Dhami has taken many big and tough decisions. The decision of Uniform Civil Code, conversion, anti-copying law and 30 percent horizontal reservation for women were also taken during this two-year tenure.

After the resignation of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, the national leadership handed over the chair to Pushkar Singh Dhami. It was under Dhami’s leadership that the BJP contested the 2022 assembly elections and broke a myth by returning the BJP to power for the second consecutive time. Even though Dhami had lost the election from Khatima assembly seat. But BJP gave the reins of CM. Contesting the by-election from Champawat, Dhami won with record votes.

After the formation of the new government, in the first cabinet, it was decided to form an expert committee on Uniform Civil Code. By taking strict action against cheating mafia in recruitment examinations, an anti-copying law was enacted in the state. Along with this, the conversion law was also implemented to stop forced conversions in the state. In which a provision has been made for forced conversion to jail for 2 to 7 years and a fine of Rs 25,000. These decisions became an example for the country as well.

Dhami government also took strict action against encroachment on government land. Provision was made for 30 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for women. On the lines of Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham, 16 temples are being developed in the first phase under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission for the development of mythological and ancient temples of Kumaon. Formulated a new sports policy to encourage young players.
