Big change in Team India before Test series, Yashasvi Jaiswal bats in place of Shubman Gill

The Indian team will play the first Test match of the two-match series against the West Indies from 12 July. Before the start of this series, most of the players of the team have reached the Caribbean land. The team also played a practice match on Wednesday. In this match, a big change was seen inside the team. Left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been selected in the main squad of the Test team for the first time, replaced Team India’s rising star Shubman Gill. In fact, in this match, not Shubman Gill but Yashasvi opened with captain Rohit Sharma and he has staked his claim for this place by scoring 54 runs in 76 balls.

Let us tell you that for the upcoming West Indies series, veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been batting at number three for a long time, has not got a place in Team India. He has been dropped from the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected in his place. Jaiswal’s debut is almost certain but till now there was suspense over his playing position. Actually, Shubman Gill has been seen starting most of the innings till now, but now in the absence of Pujara, he can be seen handling the important number three position for Team India. After the defeat in two consecutive finals of the World Test Championship, the team management has now made up its mind to do different planning. In such a situation, it has to be seen how effective this strategy proves and how long it will continue.

Virat Kohli’s problem continues

Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli will have a lot of responsibility in the upcoming series. Throughout his career, Virat has been seen getting out on balls outside the off-stump. Players of almost every team in the world are aware of his problem. Once again this problem of his did not seem to go away. Here in the practice match too, he was seen losing his wicket on a similar ball. Balls going outside the off-stump have been troubling Kohli and Jaydev Unadkat took full advantage here. On such a ball of Unadkat, he was caught in the first slip. Let’s hope Virat learns from this practice match mistake and won’t repeat it in the main match.

The Indian team will play the first match on the upcoming tour in Dominica from July 12 to July 16. With this match, Team India will also start its campaign in the third World Test Championship. The second match of this series will be played in Trinidad from 20 to 24 July. Team India’s squad was announced for this series. Rohit Sharma will take charge of the team. While returning in the WTC final, Ajinkya Rahane, who did wonders, will once again be seen in the role of vice-captain.
