After this, the team qualified for the World Cup by achieving the target of 278 runs by losing 6 wickets in the 43rd over with Bas de Leede’s blazing century. Earlier, Sri Lanka was also successful in making the World Cup ticket to its name, while West Indies’ dream of playing the World Cup remained unfulfilled.

The Netherlands has qualified for the World Cup for the 5th time. Earlier this team has participated in 1996, 2003, 2007 and 2011 World Cups.
