Uttarakhand: Dhami reviewed the Panchayati Raj Department, gave instructions to the officers to speed up the process of making all the village panchayats ODF plus

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department in connection with achieving the goals of Strong Uttarakhand @ 25 on Thursday at the Secretariat. During the review of the short, medium and long-term roadmap prepared by these departments, the Chief Minister instructed the officials that the schemes under which the central and state shares are in the ratio of 90 and 10, respectively, after completing their utilization certificates and other necessary procedures, submit the proposals to the Centre. Instructed the government to ensure arrangements for sending them soon. There should be no unnecessary delay in centrally sponsored schemes at the government level. The Chief Minister instructed the officers that if any schemes are pending before 2020 in the ratio of 90 and 10 Central and State share respectively, their full details should be given.

During the review of the Rural Development Department, the Chief Minister instructed the officers that besides promoting the local products of Uttarakhand, better arrangements should be made for marketing of the products, proper arrangements should also be made for online marketing. All necessary arrangements should be made to fulfill the products of Uttarakhand which are in high demand. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that the decisions being taken in the meetings, the action taken in the implementation of those decisions should be given first in the next meeting. The Chief Minister instructed the officers that whatever development works are being done in the villages, priority should be given to the local people. Schemes in which revolving fund should be arranged in case of delay in payment of material component from the Government of India level due to any reason.

During the review of the Panchayati Raj Department, the Chief Minister directed the officers to speed up the process of making all village panchayats ODF plus. Solar lights should be promoted in villages. Work should be done fast in the direction of computerization in gram panchayats without computers.

It was informed in the meeting that a target has been set to create 150 lakh man-days in the financial year 2023-24 under MNREGA. Under MNREGA, good work is being done in the direction of Amrit Sarovar and water conservation and augmentation. The financial progress in MNREGA, Deendayal Antyodaya- National Rural Livelihood Mission and Rural Business Incubator was 44, 59 and 42 percent higher respectively as compared to last year. In order to double the economy through rural development, work is being done on convergence of various line departments under MNREGA. Deendayal Antyodaya – National Rural Livelihood Mission Work is being done on the development of value chain based marketing facilities. A target has been set to make 1.25 lakh Lakhpati Didi by 2025. So far, 40 thousand lakhpati didis have been made in the state.

In the meeting, Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi, Secretary R.K. Meenakshi Sundaram, Nitesh Jha, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Secretary Anand Swaroop, Mrs. Nitika Khandelwal and concerned officers were present.
