It is raining like a disaster in Uttarakhand! Water level of rivers rising, Secretary Disaster Management instructed District Magistrate Haridwar to remain alert

On the instructions of Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, instructions have been issued by the State Emergency Operation Center to the District Magistrate Haridwar to take precautions in view of the possibility of increase in the water level of the rivers of the district due to rain.
Readiness and security at every level to take the following precautions in the district in view of the increase in the water level in Banganga (Raisi) Haridwar in order of the daily water level and forecast dated 09.07.2023 received from the Central Water Commission Office, Executive Engineer, Himalayan Ganga Division, Haridwar Maintaining traffic control, taking quick on-the-spot action in case of any disaster/accident, immediate exchange of information, disaster management IRS system’s designated officers and departmental nodal officers to be on high alert, all revenue sub-inspectors , Village Development Officers, Gram Panchayat Officers to remain in their areas, all outposts / police stations to be on high alert with disaster related equipment and wireless, not to switch off mobile / phone to any officer / employee during the above period, officers To take proper action to keep raincoat, umbrella, torch helmet and some necessary equipment and materials in their vehicles, to arrange food and medical facilities in case of people being stranded during the above period, during warnings of abnormal weather, heavy rain Not allowing the movement of tourists in high Himalayan areas, removal of blockages of drains and culverts in city and town areas, water level/danger status from Central Water Commission’s link http//ffs.india-water.gov.in Instructions have been issued to ensure continuous monitoring.
