Uttarakhand: Condition of 64 bridges will improve in the state, approval given in HPC meeting

The condition of 64 bridges of the state is going to change soon. The health of these bridges will be improved or replaced under the World Bank funded U-Prepare project. For this, the government has approved an amount of Rs 264 crore 69 lakh 52 thousand.
U-prepair project is going on in the second phase of UDRP
The state government is working on several fronts under disaster management mitigation in the state. For this, the World Bank is also helping. With the help of the World Bank, many works are being done in the state in the first phase under the Uttarakhand Disaster Recovery Project. In its second phase, the U-Prepare project has been started.
Under this project, the health of 64 bridges of the state is being improved. Let us inform that those bridges have also been included in this, which were declared dangerous in the safety audit conducted by the government in December 2022.
Project to be completed in five years
The World Bank funded project is to be completed in the coming five years. Recently, the HPC committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu has given green signal to this project. After which the damaged bridges will now be rectified, new bridges will be constructed.
