Where buffaloes collided with lions for 15 years of shepherding in the Gir sanctuary area. A buffalo that might not make it to the list of the most loyal animals in the world, has shown its loyalty to its 15-year-old owner (shepherd) by saving him from a lion attack in Junagadh’s jungle area.

According to information, Vikram Chavda, who lives in Kadavli Ness (small settlement inside the forest). Gir was taking his cattle towards the pond at Bagoya village in Visavadar forest range of West division on Friday. Vikram, 15, was accompanied by two teenage boys and other cattle herders. After the lion’s attack, when Vikram was completely furious and tried to fight him, two buffaloes from his herd of cattle ran towards him and started fighting the lion. During this, other shepherds also made noise and the lion ran into the forest. However, the 15-year-old boy got injured in the lion attack.

Regarding this incident, Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Gir (West) Prashant Tomar said that if the buffaloes were not there, the boy could have suffered serious injuries and may even have lost his life. According to forest department officials, the boy had to get eight stitches on his hip and back. Who was referred to Junagadh Civil Hospital after treatment. where he is out of danger.

Interruption in lion’s intercourse

Prashant Tomar said that when the shepherds passed by the place, which is in the sanctuary area, lions and lionesses were having sex there. It is believed that the lion pair may have been disturbed by their presence and attacked one of the boys.
