Jharkhand: The one who hesitated in taking the oath, was preparing to become the education minister – got the second ministry after trouble

Jharkhand’s former education minister Jagarnath Mahato was just 10th pass. After becoming a minister, Jagarnath Mahato took admission in 11th and made up his mind to pass the exam. But suddenly his health deteriorated during the Corona period. He passed away on April 6 this year after a prolonged illness. His dream of passing Inter remained unfulfilled. After the death of Jagarnath Mahto, his wife Baby Devi was sworn in as a minister even before the Dumri assembly by-election. Baby Devi could not read the affidavit properly at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. After which the departments were allotted late in the evening, they got only the Product and Prohibition Department. Earlier it was being speculated that Baby Devi would also get the responsibility of education department along with excise and prohibition (liquor) like her husband.

Live telecast was arranged by the Government of Jharkhand regarding the swearing-in ceremony of Minister Baby Devi. The swearing-in ceremony was also broadcast live. But seeing the manner in which Baby Devi had to face difficulties in taking the oath, the officials of the Information-Public Relations Department got worried. In a hurry, the video of the swearing-in ceremony was removed from various social media platforms, but this video is still present on some accounts.

BJP said – the process of oath was not completed

State General Secretary of BJP Pradeep Verma said that it is mandatory to read the affidavit in the constitutional process of taking oath, in such a situation the oath administered shows that the process of oath has not been completed. He had said that the government and the Raj Bhavan should take an appropriate decision regarding this matter after consulting legal experts. He said that it is mandatory for any person to take the oath of office and secrecy at the time of taking oath as a minister, but it did not happen.
