Uttarakhand: Stones falling intermittently in Yamunotri National Highway, danger of accident for travelers

According to the Meteorological Department, the sequence of heavy rains may continue for the next few days. However, after two days i.e. on July 10, Dehradun was sunny since morning. On the other hand, the highway remained obstructed since Sunday due to debris coming in the Yamunotri Highway. Intermittent falling of stones from the hills poses a threat to the road users.

Monsoon has created havoc in different districts of the state amid heavy rains. According to information, stones are falling intermittently from the hill near Dabarkot on the Yamunotri National Highway. Because of which the movement remains risky. Despite this people are traveling risking their lives.

Gangotri National Highway blocked
On the other hand, the road was blocked near Sunagar on the Gangotri National Highway late on Sunday night. However, BRO has made the route smooth for traffic at 6:30 am on Monday. At this place too, stones are continuously falling from the hill.

Red alert issued for 11 and 12
According to the director of the Meteorological Department, there is an orange alert for heavy rains on Monday in most of the districts of the state. While on Tuesday and Wednesday, a red alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places. In such a situation, instructions have been given not to go to sensitive areas.
