Uttarakhand: Today is the first Monday of Sawan, crowds of Shiva devotees gathered for Jalabhishek in temples

Devotees throng Shiva temples across the state on the first Monday of Sawan. Since early morning, devotees are engaged in long queues in the temples for Jalabhishek. This time the month of Sawan has started from July 4.

The doors of Dehradun’s Tapkeshwar temple have been opened for devotees since 4.30 am. Devotees are anointing Lord Shiva with chants of Bam-Bam Bhole in Devbhoomi. On the other hand, there are long queues of Shiva devotees in Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple of Kankhal. All the devotees are waiting for their turn.
Monday dedicated to Lord Shiva
According to Ravindra Puri Maharaj, president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad Mahanirvani, the first Monday in the month of Sawan has special significance. To get the blessings of Lord Bholenath on this day, one should worship Mahadev according to the rituals on Monday.
According to religious beliefs, the month of Sawan is very dear to Lord Shiva and out of the seven days of the week, only Monday is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
This time there will be 59 days of Shravan month
According to information, Saint Swami Rambhajan Van Maharaj of Shri Taponidhi Panchayati Akhara Niranjani says that Uttam Purushottam month has started from the middle of Sawan. This time the month of Shravan will be of 59 days. The special thing this time is that this year there will be eight Mondays in the month of Shravan.
