Uttarakhand: Dhami government issued helpline numbers to help people trapped due to landslides, 273 roads including 26 state highways closed in the state

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain in Chamoli, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar and yellow alert for Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Haridwar.

Schools closed in many districts
Schools have been closed in Haridwar, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar in the state due to heavy rains. At the same time, schools will remain closed in Haridwar on Thursday as well.
273 roads including 26 state highways closed
Due to heavy rains in the state, the roads are constantly being closed due to landslides in the hilly areas and overflow of rainwater. A total of 341 roads have been closed in the last 24 hours. Of these, 193 roads were closed a day earlier, while 148 were closed on Monday. Till late Sunday evening, 68 roads could be opened, while 273 roads are still closed. Tehri-Ghansali-Tilwara Motorway, Mayali-Guptkashi Motorway, Labangaon-Kotalgaon-Ghansali-Tilwara, Bansbara-Mohankhal Motorway, Ghatugad-Rikhnikhal-Bironkhal Motorway, Silkyara-Vangaon-Sarot Motorway, Meenas Atal, Sahiya Motorway in the state. A total of 26 state routes including Kwanu, Chakrata-Lakhmandal, Daragad-Kathian are closed. Their number was 14 a day ago. Due to this, passengers are being told to be stranded at various places. Many people reached their destinations through alternate routes. Here, the government has advised people not to travel to the mountains during heavy rains.
