Another cheetah died in Kuno, eighth cheetah killed in 4 months, second death in this week

Another leopard died in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park. The body of Mail Cheetah Suraj, brought from Africa, was found on Friday morning. Eight cheetahs have died in Kuno in the last four months, while this is the second cheetah to die this week.
Officials said that they are trying to ascertain the exact cause of Cheeta Suraj’s death. Earlier on Tuesday, a male cheetah Tejas had died. He was said to have been injured in a violent fight with a female cheetah. Due to which he lost his life.
There was a violent clash between Tejas and Suraj
According to information received from sources, there was a violent clash between Tejas and Suraj Cheetah recently. In which Tejas had a deep wound on his neck. After this he died on Tuesday. At the same time, Suraj was also seriously injured in this struggle. Whose body was found on Friday. Apart from this, a cheetah named Agni is also injured, he has a fracture in his leg.
It is not right to make wild animals an object of beauty for political performance: Kamal Nath
State Congress President Kamal Nath said that despite frequent deaths of cheetahs in Kuno, no such plan has come forward so far. In which any initiative has been taken to preserve the life of these wild animals. He said that wild animals should not be made objects of beauty for political display. He said that such a plan should be made soon, in which the lives of animals could be saved.
Forest minister said, this is common in wild animals
On the death of a leopard in Kuno, Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Vijay Shah said that the postmortem of the dead body is being done. Only after that I will be able to say something. He said that this is common in wild animals. These deaths resulted from fighting over food or mating. A team from the Government of India has come and we are also in touch with the team from Africa.
Cheetahs returned to the country after 70 years, when on 17 September 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released 8 cheetahs from Namibia at Kuno National Park on his birthday. On February 18 this year, 12 more cheetahs from South Africa were released in Kuno. That means a total of 20 leopards were brought.
