Their plan backfired when the driver of the hired cab informed the police after seeing blood stains from the dead body in the sack. When the police reached the spot and investigated, it was found that Kusum Kumari was murdered by two of her relatives over the ancestral property worth Rs 40 crore.

The woman’s brother-in-law and other relatives had booked Ola from Noida to Maharajpur in Kanpur, UP on July 11. When the cab driver refused to take the ride, the two men started abusing him. After this the driver escaped from there and informed the policemen posted on the highway. He also contacted the Maharajpur police.
