ACC approves appointment of 30 officers at the level of Joint Secretary at the Center

In a major administrative reshuffle by the Centre, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of appointments of officers to Joint Secretary/Joint Secretary equivalent level posts in various departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  • Ajit K. Sahoo (IAS:2003:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for a period of five years. He will succeed Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla (IAS:1995:BH).
    Vishwajit Kumar Singh (IFoS:1989:AGMUT) has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH for the tenure till his superannuation on 01.2025. He will succeed Pramod Kumar Pathak (IFoS:1986).
  • Virender Mittal (IAS:2007:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of five years till 11.2024.The post of Director held by the officer has been temporarily upgraded to Joint Secretary level, to make it more adjustable. Against a regular vacancy of Joint Secretary in the Department.
  • Sajeesh Kumar N (IRTS:2002) has been appointed in the Office of the Coal Controller under the Ministry of Coal for a tenure of five years.
  • Abhishek Dev (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as the Chairman of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of five years till 02.2026. He succeeded M. Angamuthu (IAS:2002:AM).
  • Satyajit Mohanty (IRS-IT:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defense for a joint tenure of five years till 07.2025.
  • Alok Tiwari (IAS:2007:UP), Private Secretary to Defense Minister, has been appointed as Private Secretary to Defense Minister (Joint Secretary level), on co-terminus basis with the Minister or temporarily upgrading the post of PS to Defense Minister to Joint Secretary level, until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  • Juhi Mukherjee (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years till 10.2025 in place of Korjat Kumar Mishra (IAS:1992:RJ).
  • Sanket S. Bhondwe (IAS:2007:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for a combined tenure of seven years till 04.2025 in place of Kojaydeep K Mishra (ICAS-1993).
  • Tina Soni (IAS:2007:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, for a combined tenure of seven years up to 06.03.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer. Up to Joint Secretary level, it will be made more adjustable against the regular vacancy of Joint Secretary in the Department.
  • Prashant Kumar Goel (IAS:2007:TR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services for an overall tenure of five years till 06.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, in place of Suchindra Mishra (IDAS:1992).
  • Neetu Kumari Prasad (IAS:2001:TG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fisheries, for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will succeed J Balaji (IAS:2001:AM).
  • Vipul Agarwal (IPS:2001:GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to 15.03.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will succeed Mandeep K Bhandari (IAS:2001:AGMUT).
    Richa Khoda (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health Research for a tenure of five years in place of Kogeeta Narayan (CSS).
  • Govind Jaiswal (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education for an overall tenure of five years till 10.2025. He succeeds Vineet Joshi (IAS:1992:MN).
    Pausumi Basu (IAS:2007:TG) has been in the Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years till 03.2027.
  • Anant Kishor Saran (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for the entire tenure till his superannuation on 10.2025 in place of Kosunil Kumar Baranwal (IAS:1997:JH).
  • Jitendra Singh Raje (IAS:2007:SK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the entire tenure up to 06.2024 in place of Koshriniwas Danda (IRS-IT:1992).
  • Jayant Singh (IRTS:1993) has been appointed as Advisor, NITI Aayog for a combined term of five years up to 04.2026 in place of Ms. Archafala Goyal Gulati (IP&TA&FS).
  • Neela Mohanan (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for an overall tenure of five years till 10.2025 in place of Korshmi Chowdhary (IRPS:1989).
  • Shyama Prasad Roy (CSS) has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Department of Personnel and Training.
  • Neeta Kejriwal (CSS) has been appointed as Secretary, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) under the Department of Personnel and Training for the tenure till her superannuation on 07.2025.
  • Ashish Joshi (IAS:2006:UD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for an overall tenure of five years till 12.2025. He succeeded Navneet Mohan Kothari (IAS:2001:MP).
  • Ravindra Pratap Singh (IAS:2007:OD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals for an overall tenure of five years till 02.2024. He succeeded N Yuvraj (IAS:2005:AP).
  • Shashank Mishra (IAS:2007:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power for an overall tenure of five years till 10.2027 in place of Korghuraj M.Rajendran (IAS:2004:MP).
  • Vyasan R (IAS:2007:NL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office for a combined tenure of seven years till 08.2023 by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer to JS level.
  • Rajat Kumar Saini (IAS:2007:TG) has been appointed as the CEO and MD of National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDCL) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for an overall tenure of five years till 01.2028. ,
  • Abhishek Bhagotia (IAS:2007:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development for an overall tenure of five years till 04.2027 in place of Ms. Neeta Kejriwal (CSS).
  • Vishwaranjan Sasmal (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment for the tenure till his superannuation on 02.2026. He will succeed Ms. Kalyani Chadha (IRSME:1988).
  • Nalin Kumar Srivastava (ICAS:2001) has been appointed as ED/DDG of National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Department of Water and Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years.

Uttarakhand / Dehradun: A heart wrenching incident has come to light from Vikasnagar in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Where a young man killed his own mother and fled from the spot. Actually this incident is of 3rd August. Where Herbertpur police got information about a fire in a house in Rambagh area. When the police reached the spot, they found the burnt body of an old woman inside. The owner of the house, Sanjay Singh Rana, identified the body as his wife Suresho Devi alias Vandana Rana. Earlier it seemed that the woman died due to burning in the fire but the investigation revealed the case of murder. In such a situation, today the police has arrested him. Murdered mother when he did not get money for drugs The next day of the incident, the husband of the deceased, Sanjay Singh, while giving a complaint to the police, told that his son Manmohan Singh used to live with his mother. He was addicted to drugs and often used to demand money from his mother. There used to be a lot of quarrel between the two when the mother refused. The father told that Manmohan was missing from home since the incident. After which, he expressed doubt that maybe his son had committed the murder and set the room on fire. The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
