West Bengal / Jhargram: Being drawn by the smell of delicious food, the elephant reached the wedding pavilion, saved his life and ran away from the bike with his life partner.

A strange incident took place in West Bengal’s Jhargram district when a herd of elephants barged into a wedding ceremony without being invited. Due to the entry of a herd of elephants, there was chaos there and the bride and groom going to get married were forced to run away on a bike. A herd of elephants had come there because of the smell of the food prepared for the wedding guests. Due to this incident in Jowalbhanga village of Jhargram district, there was a lot of chaos there. A Times of India report said that the herd of elephants unexpectedly came out of the tent on Sunday when the guests were being fed.

Due to herd of elephants marriage had to be postponed

Many couples were about to get married after the local panchayat elections, but due to the fear of elephants, they had to postpone their marriage. These elephants had come there because of the good smell of the food. Relatives and guests who came to the village also refused to marry because of the arrival of the herd of elephants. It is being told that in Jhargram, the local residents are in great panic due to the entry of more than 100 elephants into several villages including Jovalbhanga, Kusumgram and Kajla. Tanmay Singha, the groom who was about to marry Mampi Singha, said, “When a herd of elephants came near the wedding venue, we thought they had come here because of the smell of food. We advised the guests to leave immediately and take shelter in a safe place.”

There was fear of elephants even in Panchayat elections

Earlier, elephant flags had also affected the election campaign during the panchayat election campaign and due to fear, candidates could not come out in many areas of Jhargram. Forest officials say that around 100 elephants would be roaming in the forests of Jhargram. These elephants usually enter villages only when they smell food and local liquor.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the local residents, the authorities have been requested to take action to prevent such incidents from happening again and again. The villagers said that due to the continuous entry of elephants into their villages and houses, their daily life has been greatly affected and due to this they are facing a lot of trouble.
