Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday evening from UGVNL guest house Khatima reviewed the damage caused in the districts of Kumaon division through video conferencing with District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police. He directed the District Magistrates to lead the rescue team by reaching the spot in the disaster-affected areas, boosting the morale of the rescue team and providing all possible help to the affected people. The Chief Minister reviewed the district-wise disaster situation and relief and rescue operations in the districts. While thoroughly reviewing the water level of rivers, landslides, closed roads, distribution of compensation for loss of life and property, etc., the Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to make arrangements for smooth opening of rural roads along with highways, necessary equipment should be arranged at the affected sites. . The Chief Minister said that all departments should work with team spirit and positive energy in disaster relief and rescue operations and consider it as their responsibility. Instructing the officers to act seriously on the present situation, he said that if any factless information about road damage or landslide comes in the social media, then the concerned departments should also refute them so that there is no confusion among the people. Apart from this, the officers should go to the spot immediately on the disaster affected areas, the District Magistrate himself should reach the spot and take over the leadership of the rescue operation and while helping the people in every possible way, also do the work of consoling the affected people. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in order to speed up the rescue work in the event of a disaster, state-of-the-art equipment including lifesaving equipment should be made available to the concerned departments so that the disaster rescue teams of the district can provide immediate help in case of loss of life and property with modern equipment. to work fast.

The Chief Minister also instructed the officials to prepare drainage plans for water-logged areas or drains and rivers so that there is no situation of water-logging in the settlements or urban areas situated on the banks of the rivers in future. Under the Chief Minister’s announcement, start the work by August 15 after completing the formalities of the tender for development works. Apart from this, the Chief Minister instructed the officials that in view of the disaster, along with the assessment of the loss of life and property, the loss in the agriculture and horticulture sector should also be assessed.

The Chief Minister said that the economy of the farmers in the hilly areas runs from agriculture and horticulture sector only. In such a situation, assessing the damage caused to agriculture and horticulture due to the disaster, the permissible help should be provided immediately. The Chief Minister said that helicopter has been made available by the government for rescue in disaster in remote Pithoragarh district, so far 48 people have been rescued by helicopter in Dharchula area. The Chief Minister said that in the hour of this disaster, the government is helping the affected people and doing the rescue work with all seriousness. Instructions have been given to speed it up further. During this, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that till now 1252 projects of various departments in all the districts of Kumaon division have been damaged due to the disaster. A loss of 7506.97 lakh has been assessed against which the amount received from SDRF is 493.17 lakh while 10.04 lakh has been spent. In the VC, IG Nilesh Anand Bharne, CDO Vishal Mishra and all the District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police of Kumaon Division were associated with the VC in their respective districts.
