Uttarakhand: Commissioner and secretary reached Uttarkashi, met disaster affected and assured help

Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Sinha and Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey today visited the disaster affected areas of Purola block. During this, both the officers went to the spot and took stock of the damage caused by the disaster. After this, both the officers instructed the disaster related departmental officers to speed up the reconstruction works of damaged roads, roads, drinking water and power lines.
Disaster Secretary and Commissioner Garhwal also instructed SDM Devanand Sharma to keep the affected families in safe places, to distribute economic relief under the fixed standards of the disaster by conducting on-site inspection of farmers’ agricultural land, damage to crops. The Disaster Secretary also inquired about the progress of the ongoing reconstruction works with the officials for the last three days. Along with this, the details of crop damage due to erosion of agricultural land and debris were taken from the Revenue Department. Took detailed information about the financial assistance distributed so far to the victim families and farmers.

Disaster Secretary and Commissioner Garhwal reached Purola and took stock of damage caused to agricultural land and crops due to erosion on both sides of Gad Gadere from Kamal river to Sweel and Malgad, Purola, Kumola block, Chhada Gadere, Nagar Panchayat area Kuruda and Chhada village. Disaster Secretary Ranjit Sinha reviewed and discussed with the departments related to disaster management and said that the budget will not become a hindrance in the reconstruction works of emergency works.
During this, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that after the incident that happened two days ago, Chief Minister Dhami wanted us all to come here and investigate at the ground level and assess the damage.
