Uttarakhand: Congress is opposing the new township scheme, BJP said that it is anti-development politics, BJP said that no scheme will be implemented without the consent of the farmers.
The BJP has termed the opposition to the new township plan as anti-development politics of the Congress. The government has made it clear that no scheme will be taken forward without the consent of the farmers, but it has become a habit of the anti-state building Congress to block every new scheme. In a statement issued by BJP MLA and state spokesperson Khajan Das, it was said that the proposed plan to establish new townships in the state can prove to be a big step in the development of the state. He said, for a long time, the need is being felt to reduce the population pressure from the cities and establish new state-of-the-art centers from the economic, commercial and business point of view. This proposed township plan will have all the state-of-the-art facilities including roads, water, camps, malls, parks, stadiums, which can also become a roadmap for settling future cities. But it has been clarified by the government that it will be taken forward only after the consent and serious brainstorming of the local farmers. Such schemes will be effective in opening new employment opportunities for the local people and meeting the needs of the people around.
Khajan Das alleged that those who opposed the formation of the state and strongly supported the formation of Union Territory, are still adopting a negative attitude towards development in the state. The culprits of ruining the greenery of the capital by giving property broking the shape of a business are finding it difficult to prepare a planned city like Chandigarh today. Those who did the work of land distribution under the guise of the industrial package given by the former PM Late Bajpai, do not believe that the land is planned for residential purposes under the supervision of the government. Those who worked to obstruct the development of the state by abolishing this special package while in power at the center, are now opposing this housing arrangement for the pressure of the cities and for the people coming from the mountains hoping for employment. These are the people who had problems with the Char Dham all-weather road project, they also found the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line impossible, they have objections to making cities smart and building new smart cities, they don’t even care about increasing congestion in cities. Need and plans to create new housing system are also not needed.
Khajan Das sarcastically said that these statements of Congress expose their anti-development and anti-people thinking. Because they do not want the pace of development to be fast, so they keep trying to mislead the farmers and the public everyday with one false statement or the other. The public is well aware of such political activities of the Congress and because of this they are continuously rejecting them.
