Kerala: Dr. V Venu made CS – Dr. Sheikh Darvesh will be DGP

Kerala IPS officer Dr Sheikh Darvesh Sahab has been appointed as the new DGP. Whereas Dr V Venu, Additional Secretary, Home Department, will be the new Chief Secretary of Kerala. Venu is a 1990 batch IAS officer and was in charge of Home and Environment Department. Saheb was earlier the DGP of Prisons and Correctional Services. He has also served as Additional Director General of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau and as ADGP. He is an IPS officer of 1990 Kerala cadre.

Dr. Venu was also the former Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, Kerala and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. According to the Kerala Tourism website, the National Museum in Delhi underwent structural and organizational changes during Dr. Venu’s tenure as the Director General of the museum.
Played a major role in the Incredible India campaign
During his stay in the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Dr. Venu also played a major role in the Incredible India campaign. He has contributed to the vision of rural and responsible tourism initiatives and enabled IT services to promote tourism in the state.
