Uttarakhand: Get all the DMs and DFOs of the state encroachment-free, present the photos in the court before and after removing the encroachment- High Court

The Uttarakhand High Court took cognizance of the letter of Prabhat Gandhi, a resident of Delhi regarding illegal encroachment on the Forest Department’s land in Nainital’s Padampuri. While hearing the matter, the division bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal, while hearing the PIL, has given orders to all the District Magistrates and DFOs of the state, under which the District Magistrates and DFOs should be given National Highways, State Highways, Revenue Land and Forest Department. Before removing the encroachment from the land and after removing the encroachment, the report along with photographs will have to be presented in the court within four weeks through an affidavit.

On the encroachment on the land of the forest department in Padampuri, the court has ordered the District Magistrate and the officer concerned to remove the encroachment from the advance order and present the report. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on 5 September. According to the case, Prabhat Gandhi, a resident of Delhi, has sent a letter to the Chief Justice saying that some people have encroached on the forest department’s land and road in Nainital’s Padampuri with the connivance of the officials concerned. Because of which people are facing many problems. Therefore it should be removed. Which the Honorable Court took cognizance of.
