Uttarakhand: Government came into action after Chamoli current accident, 63 sewage treatment plants of the state will be investigated

The Dhami government is looking serious after the accident at the STP plant in Chamoli. Uttarakhand government has ordered an inquiry into the state’s STP plant after the accident due to electrocution in the STP plant on the banks of Alaknanda in Chamoli. At present, the Uttarakhand government has decided to get 63 sewage treatment plants inspected. Secretary Drinking Water Arvind Singh Hyanki has issued orders in this regard. The Electrical Safety Department will check all the treatment plants in the state.

There was a big accident at STP plant in Chamoli

The entire country was shaken by the accident that took place in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on 19th July. 16 people lost their lives due to electrocution in the sewage treatment plant. 11 people were badly scorched by the current. After this, there was a stir from Dehradun to Delhi. All the big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda had expressed grief over the accident in Chamoli. Home Minister Amit Shah even called up Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to know the status quo.

CM Dhami himself came to Chamoli

After this accident, CM Dhami Chamoli had left for the accident site on July 19 itself. But due to bad weather, his helicopter had to return. Then the next day CM Dhami reached Chamoli. There he paid tribute to the Home Guards killed in the accident. Met the scorched people admitted in the district hospital of Gopeshwar. Met the relatives of the deceased and consoled them.
