Afghanistan Flood: Flood caused havoc in Afghanistan, 47 people died; 57 injured

There is an outcry in Afghanistan due to heavy floods. At least 47 people have died due to floods in the country in the last one week, while 74 people were injured. There 41 people are missing. This information was given by the spokesman of the Taliban-led Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management, Shafiullah Rahimi.

According to Shafiullah Rahimi, “at least 47 people have died due to recent floods in Maidan Wardak, Kabul, Kunar, Pakita, Khost, Nuristan, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktika and Helmand, and 57 others have been injured.

32 people died in Wardak province

Wardak province experienced its deadliest natural disaster with 32 deaths, including 23 in Jalrej district early Sunday, according to Faizullah Jalali Stanikzai, provincial director of the Natural Disaster Management Authority. According to Khama Press, the official said that in addition to the deaths, the floods have destroyed 500 residential houses.

Parwan province 9 people lost their lives

Syed Hekmatullah Shamim said on Wednesday that at least nine people were killed and seven others were injured due to floods in Parwan province on Tuesday.

The country is one of the most vulnerable countries to natural disasters including floods, earthquakes, avalanches, landslides and droughts.

Last week, TOLO News reported that 31 people were killed, 74 were injured and 41 were reported missing in floods in Afghanistan. Rahimi said that 250 cattle have died during this period.
