Uttarakhand: CM Dhami told P.M. Listened to PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat program with Swanidhi family

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday at the Main Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence, P.M. Listened to the 103rd edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat with the Swanidhi family. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Mann Ki Baat that the letters written by some mothers and sisters of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand to him are heart-warming. He has given a lot of blessings to his son, his brother. He has written that – ‘He had never imagined that our cultural heritage ‘Bhojpatra’ could become the means of his livelihood.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this letter has been written to him by the women of Niti-Mana valley of Chamoli district. These are the women who presented him a unique artwork on Bhojpatra in October last year. He was overwhelmed by receiving this gift. Since ancient times, our scriptures and books have been saved on these Bhojpatras. The Mahabharata was also written on this Bhojpatra. Today, these women of Devbhoomi are making very beautiful artefacts and souvenirs from this Bhojpatra. The Prime Minister had appreciated his innovative effort during his visit to Mana village. He appealed to the tourists visiting Devbhoomi to buy as many local products as possible during their visit. It has had a great impact. Today, the products of Bhojpatra are very much liked by the pilgrims coming here and are also buying it at good prices. This ancient heritage of Bhojpatra is adding new colors of happiness in the lives of the women of Uttarakhand.
The Prime Minister said that he is also happy to know that the state government is also training women to make new products from Bhojpatra. The state government has also started a campaign to preserve the rare species of Bhojpatra. The areas which were once considered as the last end of the country, are now being developed considering them as the first villages of the country. Along with preserving our tradition and culture, this effort is also becoming a means of economic progress.
The Chief Minister said that through the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat program, people are inspired to do commendable work in various fields of the society. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is promoting local products as well as their branding, Along with good arrangements for packaging and marketing, it is also providing training to the local people in various fields. In October last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to devotees from across the country to Mana to spend at least five percent of their pilgrimage on local products. Due to this, there is a rapid increase in the livelihood of the people at the local level and local products are being promoted.
