Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Plantation done in Drona Vatika Colony of Doon under Harela, saplings planted under the leadership of society’s president RD Yadav
Tree plantation was organized under the Harela scheme under the leadership of Society President RD Yadav at Drona Vatika Colony located on Sahastradhara Road. In this scheme, 200 saplings were planted after requesting the Forest Department. Colony President RD Yadav told that every year tree plantation program is organized in Drona Vatika Colony, under this, tree plantation is being done inside the colony because if there is a tree then it is our life, tree plantation means planting trees. It is very important to plant trees and plants to maintain the balance in nature and to keep the environment around us clean. Nature does infinite favor to all living beings through trees and plants. Trees and plants provide us shade.
Prem Singh Chauhan, former president and patron of the society, said that if there is a tree then there is life, through this the climate changes. Wood obtained from trees can be used in many ways such as furniture, home decor items, stationery items, etc. Apart from this, trees provide fibre, resin, rubber, tannin, honey and many more. So the more trees we plant, the more things we can make, and more factories to manufacture such things means more business. More and more number of people means economic prosperity which is good for the whole country. More factories and faster growing businesses mean more job opportunities for people. Trees also increase property rates. A place surrounded by trees provides a good environment to live in and that is why its demand is also high.
On this occasion, other speakers kept their views that the benefits of tree plantation are immense but we still ignore their importance. It is time we realized how important trees are for our environment as well as for our social and economic well-being. Each one of us should take it as a responsibility to plant trees whenever possible so that we can make our planet a better place to live.
