Uttarakhand: Big scam file missing from secretariat, information commissioner revealed after investigation
The seed and tag scam file sent to the then Additional Secretary Rambilas Yadav’s office on October 14, 2020, is missing. Let us tell you that Rambilas Yadav is in jail for disproportionate assets. The file contained the investigation report confirming the scam as well as the details of deciding whether a special or SIT probe was to be conducted in the case.
The disappearance of the file came to light when Harishankar Pandey, a resident of Madhwapur Bairhana, sought a photocopy of the original file of the seed scam from the Farmers Welfare Section of the government through RTI. On not getting information from there, he filed an appeal in the Information Commission. While hearing this appeal, Commissioner Yogesh Bhatt found that the file which is missing contains information related to seed certification and tag scam. After this revelation, there has been a stir in the administration.
