In Uttarakhand, Congress state president Karan Mahara has fiercely attacked the government on women’s safety, zero tolerance and other issues. He has first surrounded the government on the issue of rape and murder of women. They say that it has proved completely unsuccessful in providing security to women. Recently, a case of rape and murder of a woman came to light near the minister’s residence in Hathibarkala area. This shows a gross failure of the government. Congress State President Karan Mahara said that according to the National Crime Report, cases of atrocities on women have doubled since 2017. Be it the Ankita murder case or the rape of minor girls in Uttarkashi district. Not only did the government cover up all the incidents, but the relief amount that should have been given to the girls, not even a single rupee has been given so far. Karan Mahara told that according to an RTI report, in the year 2022, 872 women were raped in Uttarakhand. Similarly, 3 rape cases are being registered daily in Uttarakhand. He told that according to the report, there have been 247 incidents of rape in Udham Singh Nagar, 229 in Haridwar and 184 in Dehradun. The least number of incidents of rape or eve-teasing have happened in Rudraprayag district. Where only one case is registered. Karan Mahara said that 103 cases have been registered in Nainital district, while 16 in Almora. He said that similarly two days back in Haridwar, a video of Mandal President of Kisan Morcha went viral, but an attempt was made to suppress it too. Later, a case is registered in this matter under the pressure of the public.
Government failed on zero tolerance
Karan Mahara said that the BJP government, which talks about zero tolerance, is completely immersed in corruption. A living example of this is that the file of the Agriculture Department has gone missing from the Secretariat. In such a situation, the BJP is worried that if the Congress comes to power in the coming time, it will definitely take action on corruption. That’s why files of different departments are continuously disappearing in the state.
The government is harassing the elected representatives of Congress
Karan Mahara said that the elected representatives of the Congress party are being harassed and harassed by the government. An example of which is that of the District Panchayat President of Chamoli. He said that CM Dhami announced an amount of Rs 48 crore for the development block during his visit to Naugaon. For which tenders and bonds were done, while there 15 to 20 percent work was done by the contractors, but the government called back this amount.

In Haridwar, the District Metropolitan Congress Committee demonstrated at Devpura Chowk regarding the exploitation of women and poor law and order situation. Which is very shameful. Due to poor law and order in Uttarakhand, there is no fear of law among the criminals. Due to which incidents of crime are coming to the fore.
At the same time, Anju Mishra, former president of Mahila Congress, said that women are being tortured in the double engine government. It is clear from this that this government is unable to provide security to women. It is clear from the names of BJP leaders involved in the harassment of women that their mindset is anti-women. The government has proved to be a complete failure in stopping crime. Due to which the criminal is fearless. In Dehradun, a woman is murdered under the very nose of the government and the body is thrown near the dustbin, which is a very serious matter.
