Uttarakhand: Bhatt’s sarcasm on Congress’s fast, said – For the first time in the noise of speech and slogans, observed silent fast, said – On one side fasting, on the other side happiness!

Accusing the Congress of playing double politics, the BJP said on the one hand it is celebrating relief in the judicial process and on the other it is expressing disbelief in the judicial process in the tragic Ankita case. State President Mahendra Bhatt tauntingly said that for the first time the people of the state have seen the silent fast of Congress in the noise of speeches. Targeting the silent fast of Congress State President and its leaders, State President Bhatt termed the fast as insensitive and irresponsible politics. He said that in order to get justice for the daughter of Uttarakhand, in the judicial process, the government is strongly favoring punishment for the culprits. Even before this, on the instructions of Chief Minister Dhami, the accused were brought behind bars in 24 hours and the dead body was recovered in 48 hours. The Gangster Act was imposed on the accused and the judicial process is progressing with the consent of the victim’s family after collecting all the solid evidence from the SIT investigation. The people of the state are completely satisfied with the efforts of the Dhami government, as a result of which people are not participating in the political programs of the Congress on this subject. But instead of accepting the truth, Congress leaders are abusing the people of Garhwal and Uttarakhand.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Bhatt said that he has seen such a silent fast for the first time where silence is going on with speeches and sloganeering. He sarcastically said that Congress leaders should remain silent because when they speak, sometimes the Garhwals insult Uttarakhand and sometimes their top leader Rahul insults the entire OBC community.

He said, just a day ago all these leaders were making ruckus by calling the immediate relief given to Rahul as a victory of the judicial process and today they are pretending to remain silent expressing disbelief in the ongoing judicial process on a sensitive issue like Ankita murder. Till yesterday they were raising the slogan of Satyamev Jayate linking the immediate ban on punishment with the victory of justice, constitution and democracy. Today, by demanding a fresh investigation and making misleading allegations, it is conspiring to disrupt the process going on in the court by creating distrust. He said that Congress should discharge the responsibility of positive politics and responsible opposition.
