Uttarakhand: CM Dhami gave instructions to strengthen tracking system to stop illegal mining

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the Mining and Revenue Department for achieving the goals of Strong Uttarakhand @ 2025 at the Secretariat. He directed the officers to strengthen the tracking system to prevent illegal mining to achieve the targets of revenue generation. If someone is caught doing illegal mining, strict action should be taken against them. The Chief Minister directed the officials of the Mining Department to make efforts to ensure that all the identified mining lots remain smooth, this will lead to legal work and employment to the people at the local level. He instructed the Mining Department and GMVN, KMVN and Forest Development Corporation working in the field of mining to operate all the lots, he said that every possible effort should be made to activate the lots which are not active yet.

During the review of the Revenue Department, the Chief Minister directed the officials to speed up revenue collection. It was informed in the meeting that a target has been set for digitization of land records/ maps by March 2024. By the year 2026, a target has been set to survey/re-survey the entire land registered in the state’s revenue records. In this financial year, till the month of July, 49.80 lakhs has been recovered in the head of main dues and 6143.70 lakhs in miscellaneous dues.
