Uttarakhand: Thousands of families will be homeless due to the decision to remove the encroachments, the leader of the opposition demands the government to find a solution

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya has said that the decision to remove the alleged encroachments on the roadside in Nainital district will render more than one thousand families homeless, so the state government should take forward legal measures to save the livelihood of these families. The court has sought answers from the District Magistrates and Divisional Forest Officers of all the districts regarding the encroachments.

Yashpal Arya said that, after seeking response from the district administration of the court, the shopkeepers, restaurants, hotel owners, who have been living for years in the areas of Bhujiaghat, Dolmar, Dogaon, Ampadav, Nalena, Jeolikot etc. Bread crisis has arisen. He said that on Ranibagh Bhimtal Khutani, Ranibagh Nainital, Veerbhatti, Gethia Bhumiyadhar, Kaladhungi, Nainital road, people are running their temporary shops for three-four generations and 50/60 years. Now suddenly there is an atmosphere of chaos in the entire area due to the orders of various departments to identify them and remove their shops, due to which the villagers are very upset.

He said that many of these buildings are built on lease and government allotment. Many of these have received loans from banks and subsidies from governments under various government schemes from time to time. The departments in the government have given them facilities like electricity and water. Even today the loan repayment of many establishments is still going on, so how can all of them be considered illegal. Yashpal Arya said that in the name of removal of encroachment, similar news of uprooting people who have been settled for years are coming from all over the state. People across the state cannot be ostracized in the name of removal of encroachments at once.

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that it is the duty of the government to find ways of livelihood for the people of the state when trouble comes, but here the government is destroying the people who have been living for years under the guise of the court order. . He said that the government should firmly present the troubled public and its side in front of the honorable court. The government should first allocate land to all of them and resettle them and then take some action.

The Leader of the Opposition said that if needed, the government should bring ordinances and laws to save the people of the state from the wrath of the law. He said that even before this, the government had first brought an ordinance and then a law in the Vidhansabha to protect the settlements situated on the banks of the river in Dehradun from being removed by the order of the High Court. Now the government should find a middle way to save the livelihood of thousands of families across the state.

After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
