PM Modi bluntly in G-20 ministerial meeting, “Zero tolerance policy against corruption”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the anti-corruption ministerial meeting of G20 countries held in Kolkata on Saturday. Addressing the meeting, PM Modi claimed that the government in India is adopting a strict policy of zero tolerance against corruption.

Impact of corruption on the poor

During his address, PM Modi said that the biggest impact of corruption is on the poor and marginalized people of the country. The PM said that it is the duty of his government to fight corruption. Citing the example of Rabindranath Tagore, the PM said that he had given us the message to stay away from greed. Because it does not allow us to realize the truth. The PM appealed to the representatives of the guest countries to expedite the seizure of foreign assets, prompt return of criminals after judicial process and expedite extradition as part of cooperation against corruption.

Expressing happiness in the meeting, PM Modi said that an informal agreement has been reached between the law enforcement agencies on cooperation against corruption. The PM said that corruption creates obstacles in providing resources to the people in a proper manner. Due to this, the markets are also adversely affected. The PM said that through cooperation, criminals will be prevented from taking advantage of the loopholes in the law.

India will host the summit of heads of state of G20 countries on 9 and 10 September 2023. The meeting will be organized in the capital New Delhi. Heads of state of many big countries including America, Russia, China and France are going to participate in this meeting.
