CJI was listening to PIL, woman advocate presented the case forcefully, Chandrachud said – Dismiss, then said this with a smile

Date after date and date after date. There is a big problem with the Indian courts. Lawyers show more interest in taking dates rather than arguing the case. Many judges of the Supreme Court have expressed objection to this. But amidst all these developments, the attitude of a lady advocate impressed even CJI DY Chandrachud. Hearing the lawyer’s argument, he was so impressed that he dismissed the writ and said – I hope to see your argument again in our court. The way the lawyer presented the arguments for his PIL impressed the CJI. He said that such seriousness should be shown regarding one’s case. Lawyers should work hard to get their cases listed.

According to the new roster, CJI now hears PIL himself

According to a report, the CJI was hearing the PIL in Court No. 1. However, earlier public interest litigations were heard in many courts. But under the new rule, the CJI has decided to hear all such petitions himself. Under this sequence, the woman lawyer presented her case before the CJI. The advocate tried to show through arguments how important this case is.

Keep in mind that often lawyers show more interest in taking dates during the hearing of the case. A Supreme Court Justice had also made a sharp comment on his attitude. He said that it takes a lot of money and time for any person to reach the top court. In such a situation, lawyers should present their arguments in the court during the hearing of the case. But the advocates immediately start trying to get the date.

Many senior advocates have met SC regarding adjournment

Many such incidents have come to light in the Supreme Court when lawyers clashed with each other in front of the judges regarding adjournment. One side was asking for a date while the other was adamant on hearing. Many senior lawyers have clashed with Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in the court. Actually, the lawyers got angry when the solicitor was asking for an adjournment on some important issue. The lawyers said that getting the date extended has become their habit.
