Target to purchase 8.30 lakh metric tons of paddy in Uttarakhand, government will buy at this rate

The time for purchasing Kharif crops in Uttarakhand has been fixed from 1st October to 31st December. The Food Department has set a target of 8.30 lakh metric tonnes of paddy for the Kharif crop procurement season 2023-24. Uttarakhand State Cooperative Union Limited, NCCF, UPCU, UCCF and Kachcha commission agents have been designated as purchasing agencies for the purchase of Kharif crop. Apart from this, the minimum support price of paddy and manduwa has also been fixed.

Minimum price of paddy will remain this much

In fact, Food Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with departmental officials regarding preparations for the Kharif crop procurement session 2023-24. During the meeting, Food Minister Rekha Arya said that the Government of India has fixed the MSP for the purchase of paddy. Under which the rate has been fixed at Rs 2183 per quintal for common paddy and Rs 2203 per quintal for A grade paddy. Which is about Rs 143 more than last year. Also said that about 875 procurement centers will be operated in the state of the institutions which have been nominated for procurement. Which is about 17 procurement centers more than the last session.

Minimum support price of Mandua will remain this much

Manduwa will also be purchased under the Kharif crop procurement session 2023-24. The Government of India has set a target of purchasing 0.100 lakh metric tonnes for the state. The minimum support price for Manduwa has been fixed by the Government of India at Rs 3846 per quintal, which is Rs 268 more than last year. However, the procurement of Manduwa in the state will be done through the procurement centers operated by Uttarakhand State Cooperative Union Limited in the hilly districts.

At the same time, during the meeting, Rekha Arya said that instructions have been given to the institutions nominated for procurement to compulsorily complete all the formalities by September 25. Also, these centers should be operated properly. So that farmers do not face problems in selling their crops. Apart from this, farmers have also been asked to make payment within 72 hours. At the same time, Rekha Arya also stressed that paddy should be purchased only after registration of all the farmers and verification from Bhulekh.
